I recently put a wide front end on my CA. front end has been bebuilt with new bushings and greased. Steers very hard. is there a different ratio worm gear for the wide front?

Hello the last respondent sounds close to right.
I am currently restoring a 1940 model B. Tractor sat for twenty years. The tall spindle would hardly move. Clamped flex line to king pin hole and poured wd40 in housing on one side disconnected . Took long pry bar to break free. I dont think housings were meant to be greased because of dirt intrusion and sears wear. "Play in gear box cand be remedied by building up 'finger' and hand work worm gear

where did u get the parts for the rebuild? i have a widefront i'm working on to put under my C and i need new tierods and the pivot bushing, and mabee an oil seal or 2. thank u

i got all the parts at local allis dealer in Albion IN--truelove's--i used tie rods that also fit WD and cut them down. they have 2 diff. size taper. get the small one.

Did your build the upper parts. I have found that the shaft attached to the front steering arm get pitted and turn very hard. If the steering box has the adjusting screw turned in to tight cause the steering wheel turn real hard. I would unhook the tie rods under the front and see if it moves freely. The other thing is when installing the new bushings that some times you need to run a reamer thru to make them move freely. Without knowing what all steps you have taken in the rebuild guessing is all that I could do to help.
