D-17 loader hydraulics

Hi guys I usually spend time on the IH board or tractor talk board but got a question for you all. My dad has a 17 that is a series I or II don't know (I do know it is not a series IV) any way I have a new idea loader that I have seen on 17's but we would need 2-way hydraulics and 2 valves what would be the easiest way to do this? Is a front mounted pump just to run the loader a option & where would you find one? Thanks for any help. Brian

Check the front side of your crankshaft pulley. Should be drilled and threaded for a bracket and shaft that goes through the steering sector to run a front mount pump. Don't know if it's still available through Agco, but a machine shop could make you one. Pump mounts in front of the radiator, and you can mount an oil reservoir there too.

my series 1 d17 has 2 way hydraulic plumbed off stock pump but if i were you i'd go with a front pump...would be a helluva lot more dependable not to mention faster response.
