CA stuck in wrong gear

I replaced my CA transmission cover and new gasket and lub. When I got it all back together, the shift lever is in neutral but the transmission is in reverse. How do I properly line up the forks and shifter mechanism on the transmission cover with the transmission. I've tried several times with no success. It worked fine until old goofy got ahold of it. HELP!

An engineer told me to KISS. Keep it simple stupid. Only shear luck or an accident to put side cover on with shifting stick in place. Remove stick, carefully install shifting forks.
probably will need to slightly re-align stick forks. This summer I will be ready for paint on
my 1940 model B. An older brother bought it new.
Some one gave me a CA which needs restoring. Preserve these jewels. There are too many greedy
that charge an arm and leg for parts.

You bumped one of the slide gears putting the cover back on. Welcome to the club. Not a big proble at all just time. Pull the cover back off and make sure all three forks are in line with grooves on the slide gears. Any one taking the cover off and never bumping a gear out of place was either real lucky or has a memory problem.

We did this on ours to check make sure that it was in there right here is a trick put both rear tiers on the ground and not on a jack remove coil wire and put the cover on with 2 bolts turn motor over by hand in all gears and make shur it moves the tractor and is not locked up in any gears
