AC 160 Hydraulic leak

I had just purchased a 160 and had to go out of town for a couple of days. My Father-in-Law thought he would do me a favor and top off all the fluids for me. He added hydraulic fluid because he thought it looked low (there is no dipstick, only the hole in the side of the case to know when it's full) He didn't realize there was the drain bolt on the side of the case and put in too much fluid. After returning I noticed a puddle of hydraulic fluid on the floor of the barn apparently coming from the rear diff lock pedal shaft which seems to be just a little higher than the drain plug on the opposite side. I pulled the drain plug and let the excess fluid drain but there is still fluid leaking from the diff pedal shaft after two days! has anyone else encountered this problem after overfilling the hyd. fluid? If so, is there any other damage that could have been caused? I assume that once the appropriate level is reached this leak will stop although it does not appear to run out of the drain plug on the side of the case when the bolt is removed. Only the pedal shaft. Any insite would be greatly appreciated.

I would try draining and refilling the transmission and differential case. There are two drains, one for the transmission and one for the differential even though they are both filled through the fill plug on top of the transmission. It might be that the differential is trapping excess fluid. I believe the proper fluid is 10w-30 motor oil.

Thanks Paul, I kinda figured the only way to know how much fluid was in there was to drain and refill. I never thought of the rear diff trapping excess fluid but that makes sense. I'm guessing the only damage done thus far is the stain on the shop floor. Thanks again for the reply.
