I have a friend with a CA who is experiencing a problem with his hand clutch not releasing. I have read many posts about this here and see the major issues that are addressed, such as wear and needing adjustment, rust, and maybe it has been bolted together. I would like to get a drawing of the clutch assembly if anyone has one. Can you help? Thanks..... ...Rick

Look in the hole in the casting where the clutch lever is attached. There is an adjustment screw. The adjustment screw screws into the gap of a star wheel to lock it. The star wheel (about 2 inches in diameter) revolves around the shaft which adjusts the proxmity of the realese mechanism to the clutch. Back the bolt out and turn the star wheel down to increase the gap between the release mechanism and the drum.(with a big screwdriver) If you look close with a right light, slightly to the wheel side, you can see where the release plate rides against the drum. should be a very slight gap. about 15/1000. The problem is dirt, water & rust (very poor design)Spray about 3 cans of break cleaner in the hole and keep working the clutch while driving it.Take the big screwdriver with you because once it releases you will have to adjust the star wheel by turning up) to get back home
