I have been to a few tractor shows the past few years and I have seen the Ford V8 & 6 cylinder conversions for the N's but also I have recently seen a v8 diesel installed in a Farmall M as well as a V6 installed in a little Allis CA( this was this past month in Temple, Texas). I even found an article in Antique Power magazine where a guy put a chevy v8 into a Ford N series. Has anyone out there attempted to put a V8 engine into a WD-45? I am thinking of attempting doing this some day just for the challange of it but haven't really got serious about it yet. Anybody know where could I find dimensions of the bell housing of the existing engine where the engine bolts to the transmisison torque tube so that I could design an engine adapter plate? Otherwise I probably will just have to take field dimensions.

I have seen a small block Chevy installed in a
WD45. It was at Pioneer Days a year ago at Eau Claire, WI. I do not remember if it was an automatic or standard transmission between the ex-
isting trans/rear axle and the engine. It was a lot of engine for the small diameter tires on the Allis, but ran real smooth. Something a little different!

I HAVE A 1945 FORD TRACTOR 9N AND I AM INTERESTED IN THE FUNK CONVERSION TO FLAT V8. WHERE DO I START, IS IT A SPECIAL V8 OR STANDARD,WHERE DO YOU GET THE ENGINE SADDLE? AND OR SOME INSTRUCTIONS OR PRINTED INFO?

That would be wonderful, lets mess up another old tractor that they don`t make any more.Then will take it to all the tractor shows and park it with the antiques.NOT
