You guys are making me cry. A was my main tractor for years-went to the junk dealer. HP was somethng like 38 or so. Was a very low compression. It had a space above the pistons that was larger than the bore. That is the bore was way smaller than the block would take, I made inserts to drop in and raise the compression for a while. Then the only overhaul sleeve set I could find were for the "E60" power unit. These had full bore. I think 5 1/4 bore and 6 1/2 strike. I parked it when I had problem spinning the wheels inside the rims. No lug yo keep it from turning. They were 28 inch, but I don't remember the width.

From what I have seen, you won't find one in any shape for under 6,000.00. I watched one restored sell for 25,000.00 last summer.

Well, machines with the description you are giving have been offered for sale in the $6000 to $10,000 range. Some non runners that have required repairs have sold in the $3000-$5000 area. Some of the things influencing value is the presence of PTO, belt pulley and a starter. There has been reproduction sheetmetal available in the past and engine parts are available.

That is a rare tractor, surviving numbers are unknown but guesses are around 100 of the 1225 built from 1936 through 1942.

I know what you mean about the 100 surviving tractor thing. When I got mine I found out that there were 4 in our club. Ernie Nutsch tried to put together a list of survivors and he said his best guess is around 100. I have talked to others that say there are fewer than 100.

We hauled ours out to the GOTO in Canadaigua NY and there were 7 of them there! Go figure!

Check with Norm Meinert on those carb parts. He can come up with about everything for those old beasts. I don't have his no. but someone here will.
