hello i was trying to change my mag. on my tractor when i pull the mag out all it fell and the wires came off i know its 1243 but how do i find wich is 1243 on mag. i want to say its mid to late 40s but i am at a total lost on how to find where wich wire gose where. the tractor ran good when i sat it up but i couold'nt get it to fire so had another mag i was putting on it when this happen. are they any other numbers on it that i could tell what model it is. they do have numbers on rearend any help would help greatly

Generally they are set up with #1 on top, nearest the engine. #2 is on top, away from the engine, etc. Go clockwise around the mag. Sometimes the cap is marked with numbers. Not all are left original, so start like this msg says, and then try top right as #1, etc., working your way around until it fires and runs.
