MY WD pressure gauge say 10 pounds at about mid scale with no other numbers. Thats about where it runs. Otiginal gage? Is this about normal for them?

Thanks fellows. I grew up with a WC, so know about the rag filled filters. Can't believe the WD I just bought, is such good conditon that it has the original pressure gage, amp meter and lights (6 volt burned out tho). Original paint and think I will leave that the way it is. Never realy looked at it befor sale--just waved my hand on impulse at 1500.

You hurt me deeply--great big grin----not realy. Buddy needed some thing to pull his NH baler.

Here in Colo. the city fellows have bought every small tractor they can find at what ever it takes, or so it seem to me ..same sale, Allis 1982 25 HP with loader was 7 thousand. Every paper has 8N and 9N,s listed for 3500.

I just sold a WD with narrow front end two weeks ago. I got $1900 for it. $1500 isn't a bargain around here but it is a fair price. Good luck.

Don't let them kid you. A $1500 WD will still be running 30 years from now. Those things just run and run. Easy to overhaul, when it comes to that, too. My '49 WD runs good but looks terrible. I've had a lot of offers in the 1200-1500 range.

It's all about local supply and demand, Ken. If the old tractor runs good and is original, $1500 sounds like a good deal to me.

yup that's right considering the service manual says 12 psi.

the original gauge should be marked with NORMAL with the gauge staying near the letters ORM in the word normal for an old tractor 10 psi is good

Pretty normal for most of the older allisis. They used a low pressure oil system on them. Also if you get the wrong type oil filter you will loose oil pressure
