To anyone with advice, I have a '55 WD 45 with a 5' belly deck mower, the PTO has been dropped and reversed to run the mower decks gear driven system. I also Have an AC two point auger that I would like to run. Question is is there a way to run both (of course at different times) without having to drop the PTO housing every time I want to drill a hole, that would be very time consuming and be a tremendous waste of hydraulic fluid. Is there a way to have a two way PTO , i.e shaft running through the PTO and just dropping the the front or rear shaft or a geared intermediate housing that I could shift between front and rear, I'm sure I would have to have a machine shop make something like that but it would be nice. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

It ought to be possible to build a special shaft that goes both forward and rearward to run the mower and the Rear PTO at the same time. The lower housing has a welch plug that needs to be removed; and a seal would have to be installed on the front side. Would not be cheap, however, depending on who made the shaft.....

I wont be back home until Friday, I will fire her up and post back wich direction the PTO turns. I am pretty confident it has been turned around the PTO engage lever is on the left side now instead of the right and the handle extension is not connected. Actually kind of a pain to engage mower because I have to stand on the mower deck and depress the clutch with one hand and engage PTO with the other. I am also having some problems keeping her running, but I read through most of the WD 45 related forums and have a few ideas that I will try. If they dont work I will post new questions. This is my first tractor, actually I have only driven a tractor a few times but I am starting my own little farmstead. Besides whats a man without a few toys.

When you are looking at the tractor from the back, does the pto rotate clockwise or counterclockwise?
