Well, I'm officially bit. Heretofore I only had one tractor - an 1950 WD. Last night brought home a 1958 D17. Local guy had it and I just couldn't help myself! Don't know what came over me! It's a solid old workhorse. Not restored, but runs and works great. I think I got a fair deal on it (it came with a 6Ft Massey bush hog as a bonus).

My wife isn't particularly happy with me, but I just remind her of how much time and money I (excuse me, WE) have invested in those darn horses of hers!

Will it stop with just 2 tractors?

Things can take a funny twist. Except for a single purchase, my wife met the news of each new tractor addition with disdain. Now, I am trying to pare back my collection because I don't have enough time to care for them. I knew she liked "her" Minneapolis Moline ZTE - purchased because she grew up in Minneapolis a couple of miles from the Minneapolis Moline factory. But she has stood firm against selling others as well. She won't let me sell an Allis Chalmers G, D-14 and D-17. She refuses on an Oliver 77. And she's not pleased that I'm trying to sell a Case 800. I don't know which is better - support or non-support. Yesterday, I bought a Massey Ferguson 25. She didn't think much of that either but she wants in on the THT (Tractor Hauling Trip)!

You need a few more tractor. If you bale your own hay you need at least 3 of them. 1 to cut with, 1 to rake with and one to bale with. My self I have around 30 or so on the place and I'm always looking for more tractors. My wife has her goats and we have the horses. She doesn't say a thing when I pull in another tractor she just looks at it as an investment. She know if we really need money you can always sell a tractor but animals that can be iffy

It is nice that you guys communicate with the wife's like that. I now have about 50 tractors and my wife often points them out to me. I can't keep up with her.

Yea, I use the same excuse with my wife.
Except she has 19 horses to my 12 tractors.
Plus she has 20 som'tin llamas. I'm a little behind, need to buy more tractors.
