can a CA run a square baler without struggling too much. I'm not going to pull a wagon, I'll drop the bales on the ground. the baler I'm looking at is a new holland 269. thanks for any input

Belive it or not! Back about 1970 our neighbor had a friend come over to bale hay for him.
He had a "CA" Allis and a New Holland baler, don't remember model.
But the amazing thing of it was the operator of the tractor and baler was PARALIZED from the waist down. 2 guys got him up in the seat, they had modified the foot clutch with a welded on bar. They even pulled the wagon behind.

It will be all a CA wants to pull. It would do better if the baler had its own engine but even then the weight of the tractor really isn't enough to do a safe job with it. If your on flat ground maybe but if you have any hills it could be big trouble. But if you found an old allis roto baler that would be another thing since they where made to be pulled with a B/C/CA

Makes a difference how big the windows are. Small windows do not take much HP to pack the hay back. I baled a few bales in small windows several years back with my 9523 Simplicity same as Allis 5020 pulling a New Holland 277 baler.

I RAN A MF12 BALER WITH MY CA JUST TO CLEAN UP A FIELD ONCE. THE TRACTOR HAD ENOUGH POWER BUT NOT ENOUGH WEIGHT. EVERY PLUNGER STROKE ROCKED HER BACK AND FORTH
