My uncle recently bought an old HD-16D Allis Chalmers Crawler/Bulldozer. The serial no. is 6931

Anybody know how to tell what year this was made.
best we can figure it's somewhere in between 1955 and 1965.

it's a 6 cyl. no turbo, believe it used to have a cable blade, but when we got it, it had a Cat. blade in it.

Also if anybody knows of possible places to get parts for this, let me know.
we're trying to restore it, to a decent running condition to work it on some investment property.

Per Terry Dean book, HD16D introduced in 1960. 2 additional variants DC with torque converter also 1960 and DP with powershift in 1964.

believe yours is late 1964 - s/n range 6270-6964

try posting under dozers - there are a few Allis guys there into these
