I am having one heck of a time trying to determine the year of the tractor that I just purchased. I was told that it is a 1948 Allis Chalmers B model but can't match up the serial numbers that are on the tractor... HELP!
Serial Numbers as follows:
Top behind gear shifter.. 280600
Top in front of shifter.. C14664
Side... 3284
Left side of gear box..L-13-RL
Bill of Sale.. AM 2961-23
I need to replace the "Hydraulic Lever" but have no idea where to purchase the correct lever for this tractor.
Any help will be truly appreciated!

dont use cast numbers. the stamped number C14664 is the tractor number. it is a model C serial number 14664. check the sn page, it will be an early 1942-3 probably. probably narrow front end, 15 inch front tires, 24 inch rear wheels, no tractor frame, motor is mounted to a torque tube with 4 studs and trans mission mounded on the other end same way. has a 125 inch 4 cyl motor, about 20 HP, 3 speed. can have belt and sahft ptos and hydraulics is small, but lots of pressure.

Robert, check out Bryan Smith's web page
...on right column, about 3/4 down for Serial Number Location Images.

Should be able to use the other topic pages to determine year of mfg.

If not, I have a book that shows S/Ns; shoot me an email
