roundbaleing with D17

I bought a vermeer 605C round baler with hydraulic tie and want to pull it with my D17. I have double acting spool installed on tractor with two hyd hoses to open and close the gate. Can I disconnect the hoses when the gate is closed and connect them to the balers hyd tie mechanism to tie the bales? Is there a better way? My D17 is a good tractor used for haying but I am new to round baleing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is there anyone out there using D17 to round bale that might have some advice?

I use a D17 series IV with a New Holland 848 baler. This baler has electric twine tie, so the one set of hydraulics works fine with it. Before this baler I used a New Holland 846 that had a manual twine tie. That worked fine also. I believe a neighbor of mine had a 846 with hydraulic tie that he used with his D17 - I think one of the hoses had a smaller hose splitting off it that supplied the hydraulics for the tie.

I tried my idea to remove the hoses under pressur and hook up to hydraulic tie. It worked ok. Guess I'll do that for first cutting and change hydraulic set up similar to what BCnT sugested when I get time.

Not sure on that baler, but on my M&W when the gate is closed I still have pressure in hydraulic lines, seems kinda hard to hook and unhook with pressure still in line. BCnT's idea seems pretty good to me.

actually theres 2 ways...invest in a double 2 way spool or use one of these...its alot cheaper...a guy over on implement board showed em to me.
