About three years ago I got lucky backing up with my WD because I was going slow when the pin next to the u-joint dropped out of the steering shaft. Yesterday my other WD that is turned around backwards started binding in the steering. I assumed it was a bearing issue as it started this a while ago. Sure enough after I looked I discovered the same pin was falling out and binding on the oil pan.

So you folks probably should check yours out as if a person was in road gear im thinking pretty bad odds. I have a RC, a couple WC's and a W that I'm going to check out soon. They are kind of hidden from view, so easy to overlook.

You can also use a 'roll pin' and run a wire through it to keep it from falling out. A roll pin will fit tighter than a bolt because of the 'springiness'.

Most of the ones I have had long since had a bolt put in place of that pin because if that type of problem.
