I would like to trade a WD starter for a B starter

I bought a starter off Ebay last winter. It was sold as a B starter when I went to put it on yesterday I found out it was for A WD. I still need a B starter does any one want to trade a WD starter for A B starter?

Starters for the B-C and WC have a 2 pole field while the WD starter has a 4 pole field, but they have the same armature. Now, if you could put the gear and nose cone from a B starter on the WD starter, you would have a really snappy cranking starter for your B!

Only differance in a WD and B starter is the nose cone and even some of them have the double tapper holes for the lock bolt. If you have the one with the single hole then yes you need another starter nose cone to make it fit. If it has 2 holes then it should fit right in. I may have a nose cone laying around here that I would sell. I have taken the starter off my C more then once and put it in my WD just so I could use the WD when its starter went bad on me.

The gear on the bendix drive is a different size as well.

That I have never ran into. I know I can switch back and forth from a C, WD or WD45 and all work on the same tractor. Never heard of the flywheel in the B being differant or the bendex either
