AC IB Clutch Noise

A friend of mine has alittle IB. When you let the clutch out there is a noise---kinda whiny-not a growl. When you push the clutch back in it goes away. What is it? I thought maybe the throw-out bearing--if not that what could it be? Thanks

sounds like noise coming from the trany. if it were the throwout bearing it would make the noise when the clutch is depressed. Bob

crawl under the tractor and look up thru the egg shaped hole. there is a grease zerm on the bearing-- put 4-5 shots in that and see what happens.
