Fellas need some ideas to check out on WD45 it is hard to start even after warmed up. It turns over real good and runs very well but is hard to get the ol boy "woke up". I have new plugs and wires on it,for what thats worth and I still need to check fuel flow on the downsteam side of the inline fuel filter. I pulled the plugs after tryin to start it the other day and they seemed awfull dry like maybe wasnt gittin good fuel, anyhows thought id get some suggestions on a checklist of sorts to start out with on the trouble shootin. Fellas, thanks so much for the ideas, Ill trouble shoot these suggestions IE the champion plugs and the fuel filter. The inline filter does appear to be the kind from auto store the ( the silver can type) anyhows it was on the tractor when i bought it, but ill get rid of the thing and change out the champions in a day or so. Im in the middle of doin some work on the lil' B right now and since its mowin season figured id get it finshed then tackle 45's hard startin problem. as always guys thanks so much for the ideas and ill let yall know what i find, Hoss

Resister plugs can be a problem that will cause the old Allis engines to be hard starting. I have had good luck with Champion plugs the last coupla years. They went thru a period that I would buy a eight pack to make sure I had a good six set.
One of the biggest problems that I have found on a hard starting tractor is the space down from the feed tube in the carburetor and just ahead of the power jet will have some build up of crud.
You need a pool of gas directly under the feed tube to be sucked up into the engine on the first vacuum from the engine as it turns over.

If you installed Champion plugs, replace them with something else.

In line fuel filter, bad news about 99% of the time on gravity flow fuel systems unless its made for a gravity system. If you got it at and auto parts store then you have found your problem. Throw it away. Had a guy up the road last summer call me and told me he was haveing torulbe with his tractor running. It would start then die in a couple minutes. I got there and saw the in line filter removed it and he hasn't had any trouble since. Easiest case of beer I have gotten in a long time. You also need to check your spark and make sure its a nice brite blue spark, and are the plug wires the true copper wire type or ones made for a car, that could also be a problem
