No, it won't drop in. You will have to bolt it in like the old engine. If you drop it you will break something. Be more careful. Then it can be installed. The front pulley and the governer are different. Also need to block off the fuel pump.

Hi Ernie,

I'll be careful. What do you mean about the front pulley and govenor? Do I need to take them off my WD45 engine and install them on the gleaner engine? It sounds like the eaner has a fuel pump so are you saying I should remove the fuel pump and put a plate to cover the hole? Would I use the carb for the WD45 or the gleaner?

The reason I ask all of these questions is that I don't have a Gleaner but know where I can buy an engine. My old engine has a cracked block.

thanks for your time
Dave

Well if that doesn't work out for you, I have a complete WD45 engine that needs to be rebuilt but the block etc is in good shape. Its just sitting on my shop and is sort of in the way. Reason I pulled it was that it had very low oil pressure but shoot it ran that way for 10 plus years on/in my WC Speed patrol. I found a good running WC/WD engine which is what it should have had any how and installed it so now I have this one just laying around
