GM 292 from combine in a WD?

Found a GM 292 out of a combine and was wondering what it would take to put it in a WD? thanks for any help!

It takes two adapters to fit the 292 into the WD. One for motor and another for the flywheel. The one on the flywheel is so you can use the WD starter. I have a WD with a 292 in it. The reason for using the 292 is cost. To do a 262 Allis motor is very expensive. The cost of using a 292 is cheaper. Most all parts can be bought off the shelf. That makes things cheaper. You will spend about half of what other people will spend on any other 6 cyl. to have a lot of fun. I have run one for the last 3 years and have had a lot of fun. Makes the Oliver boys sweat. In the 4000 lb. class Allis rules, but above that the Oliver boys get tough. When you find out how much they have invested in their motors it make you sort of grin. You will not have half of that invested. I am getting older and considering selling mine. If you are interested let me know. If you are wanting to build, I will help all I can. Hope this helps.

The GM 292 a really good, tough engine but what's the reason you're thinking about putting it in a WD? If the WD engine needs work, that'd be the least expensive route. If you want a tractor for pulling shows, then the 292 is the way to go. There are ways to boost the 292 HP - go with 283 pistons and some boring in the manifolds, that makes it a real powerhouse. So if that's the goal, then put it in. It won't be cheap.

The Allis power unit, G-230 or G 262 from the A and A-II and C-II are easier to install as the engine rear face is the same I am told.
