I am trying to get this old D15 running after 10 years sitting in a garage. I did an oil and filter change and figured I would crank it over without the spark plugs in it just to get oil back in the system without a load. I didn't get any pressure on the gage so I replaced it I also removed the oil filter and found it dry. I tried pouring oil down the holes of the oil filter housing to maybe prime the pump still no luck.I cranked for about 30-45 seconds and it should of built up some pressure. Does anyone have any ideas, or suggestions? Do they sell new or remanufactured pumps?

I dont know if the pump wore out I was just asking if they made replacements. This tracto was stored in an attached garage for the 10 years it sat. Thanks for the info. Oldgit

They make and sell them. Kinda salty. They have a larger diameter rotor that the B,C, and CA"s. It is a higher volume pump because of the pressurized rod bearings.

Denny has you the information you need. You will have to prime at tubing/pipe at the top of the pump. Not at the filter base. Having said that and not knowing the environment the tractor was setting one would not know, if it will not take a prime, if moisture has caused the pump vanes to stick fast in the pump rotor. That becomes a pain to split the tractor but (probably) would not need a different pump or any new parts. I have had two or three that were like that. They were fence row tractors though.

I had a prime problem on my C when I first started it. Pouring oil in the filter housing probably won't prime the pump. I had to remove the lines that connect to the filter. I then forced oil into the tube connected to the rear of the block with a good pump type oil can. If you pour oil in the base, it simply runs into the pan. This advice is based on the C (which the D-14 and D-15 share the same engine block).

It maybe a problem with the drive pin in the end of the Camshaft it could have sheared off. You can check it by removing the camshaft thrust cover and run something back thru the cam shaft and feel it it is still there. Or you may have to remove the cam shaft and check it. If it is the same as a d-15 series 2 it has a rotor blade oil pump spring loaded. New oil pump are about $285.
