Got a 7060 allis that runs cool when you have a light load on it, if you pull it much at all it will heat up and get extremely hot. No pressure in the radiator no bubbles in the water. Water pump is good, radiator recently rodded out. Put a new pump and injectors and retimed it. We pulled the head off today, thinking it may have a gaulded piston or a cracked head, It didnt have either one. One sleeve looked like it had a little rough spot on it. Any ideas??

We fixed it, all the things mentioned above had been done. What actually fixed it was there was some water cooler lines that when into the intake manifold and in the manifold there was some sort of cooling fins or something that were leaking some drops of water. As these drops of water got into the intake and fuel, it was causing the tractor to get hot in a hard pull.

thanks for the tips anyway

Is the water boiling over? If not, it isn't getting as hot as you think. The others here have mentioned the usual culprits. Start from there.

Sure sounds like a radiator problem...You should have some pressure.

How about a thermostat problem? When you mentioned no pressure in the radiator, that is usually a good sign. The temp sensor is in the block the coolant can't gat to the radiator. Just a thought. CT

Maybe your temp. gauage is lieing to you, the electric ones will do that. Make sure your fan blades aren't on back wards and that you have a shroud on it. Thermostat could be hanging up. Put a pressure tester on the Raid. and see how long it holds pressure, maybe counter bores leaking?

I don't remember if the tractor has an oil cooler on it. If it does, it may be plugged. I had the same problem with a 3406 Cat. When I removed the water pump, I was able to see that the oil cooler was plugged at about 75%. Just food for thought.

Check the Air flow thru that Radiator.Could be plugged up with dirt and trash.
