I will be going to this auction in about an hour. The grandson is trying to get everything ready to sell. He may not know much about tractors. There wasn't a battery in the tractor yesterday. Which way does it go in? Still positive ground? Could that be the problem? Would the amp or voltage gauge be the way to determine polarity?

Which way does the rotor turn in the distributor? What is the firing order? He said he wondered if someone switched the plug wires or changed the timing.

I drove a D14 as a kid and liked that tractor. It might follow me home.

If it still has the generator, it should be positive ground. Hook up a battery and turn on the lights, should show discharge. The distributor rotor turns clockwise, firing order is 1-2-4-3.
