Fuel Prob. on D15 II

I can run tractor for about 20 min. after that the fuel in the filter runs out and motor quits. I have replaced filter and found the fuel will not flow unless I loosen the line to the carb. This is a gravity flow system. I have checked the float and needle in the carb., both working fine. Any Ideas?

my model c did the same thing. it uses a vented
cap and mine was stopped up, so i drilled an extra hole in it and made it a little bigger. problem solved.

If the problem is not solved after the cap is loosened, try removing the fuel bowl, line to carb, and unscrew the rest of the fuel bowl from the tank. See if the fuel flows freely when you do this, as sometimes floating crap can be sucked down into the nipple, temporarily blocking the flow. Bumble bees and red clover heads are a couple of things I have found floating in a gas tank!

Try loosening the gas cap. I had the same problem with my D-14. I just set the cap of the tank instead of screwing it down and all works fine. The tractor probably requires a vented cap which had been replaced by a non vented cap. Someday, I will drill a small hole in the middle of the cap to solve the problem forever. Mine usually worked good on a full tank but failed a 1/4 tank or less.

Will try that this weekend. I just put gas in it and only put about 5-6 gallons.(thats about 1/4 tank) Thanks.
