Yes Rotella 15-40 is OK but you should check in on AC 821 for the rearend and hydraulic fluid because they are one and the same I'm not not sure Hy-Tran is Ok for that because something as expensive as the rearend for that tractor deserves a little extra attention because you have wet brakes and various things going on in that rearend that require special attention. I'm not sying Hy-Tran won't work but you also have the wet clutch and Power Director to deal with.

Hi, I'm have the same issues with my 7080AC. The tack sets on 2000 RPM all the time while the tractor is running. And then the hydraulics seem to fade in and out almost like it is low on fluid.

Any ideas on these problems?

I checked all three wires on the alternator, I have brownish wire on the back side (small wire), heavy wire in the center, assuming this is the battery lead, and a small white wire on the outside, checked with a test light and all have power with engine running. Was wondering if by mistake someone switchted the brownish and white wires, wonder what would happen if I switched them to see if the tach would work, ruin the alternator?? I'm getting frustrated cause I can't even get the dash apart right to get to the back of the tach, the small top metal panel on top of the dash, which is right above the tach, can't figure out how it comes off, thanks... poppop.

The one on my 7000 is driven off the alternator. It could be that your alternator has been replace with one without a sender for the tach? I am pretty sure all the 7000 series had an alternator "driven" tach (wasn't actually driven, just sent impulses).

I'm not sure what could be added to the alternator. If your tach is not working, make sure you check the ground wire to it. I would say it is something else though because the hour meter is working, but there is a chance. The owners manual should have a wiring diagram, which may or may not help...personally, they can sometimes confuse me more than they help me, and also, there is the old repairs that patched something with different color wire... Good luck. I am not sure about the Hytran either, anything that is up to AGCO 821 standard is good for the rearend though, just make sure you keep the fluid changed and filters chnaged at regular internvals, thats the most important thing!

thank you Hurst, never heard of that type of tachometer system, if that is the case,do you know if that is something that can be added to any altenator?, or must it be factory? Also, is a 15-40 rotella motor oil ok, and a hydralic oil like IH hy-tran for the transmission fill under the seat?, and the fill cap on the rear (for the 3-pt and pto???) Is that little sight glass on drivers side rear of tractor for the trans. or 3-pt. or pto? thanks..poppop

Those sight bulbs are for everything except the engine. Power steering, pto, clutches, hydraulics, virtually everything. It would take a power higher than me to tell you Hy-Tran would work for those systems it is the heartbeat of the tractor one mistake and could cost major $$$$$.
