Allis Chalmers Haybine -Have you seen one?

I bought a haybine today at a auction sale marked Allis Chalmers. I didn't know they made them. When were they made and does anyone know the model#? Anyone know if they were built by Hesston or New Holland? This one looks like a cross between the two. The one I bought looks to be in useable condition and only paid $125.

I believe they built their own haybine. We have a 390 and have used the same 390 since 1975 and it has been good. Doesn't mow as fast as the old 460 NH we also used for a few years but the 390 has outlasted it and seems to skim over gopher mounds better. Parts are getting high though. Milked cows until 1997.

I saw your post on implement photos, you"re right it sure looks like a PT-10 on the left side but doesn"t have the low profile look of a PT-10 I was only involved with the later PT-10"s so maybe it is an early version of them. They made the PT-10 from 71 thru 78 and AC sold the 390 from 72 thru 75 and the 904 in 71. You might want to try to find the ID tag to see what model it is and go from there. They also made the same thing for Case too. PS, most older Hesston dealers will be able to tell you what your machine is they like to sell parts better markup :-) Grin, Good luck, CT.

Does it go around the field counter-clockwise? I'm sure that would be a true sign of an Allis Chalmers implement.
