John Mrotek in Luray, VA has G #1 and can authenticate it. I had the pleasure to visit him and see it along with the rest of his collection a few weekends ago while I was in VA on a business trip. Here"s a couple pictures.

Hey guys,heres a little history about the G. There were actually G tractors with serial numbers 1-5. They never left the factory. Thats why the numbers never showed in the books. Supposedly used for research and experiments as what the G could do. There's a man in either Virginia or West Virginia that has number 1. By the way I have Number 6.

There is a 'serial numbers' topic at the left side of the page.
Ayway, according to this list, your tractor is a 1948 model...

1948 production was from 6 to 10,960.
