I bought an AC tractor for my class to restore and show. The decal says D-15. We found what we think is the serial # stamped into the back housing which reads 343430, but that # is not listed in our serial# book for a D-15. We found a number stamped into the engine block which reads15-4635-R. We also found a casting # on the center housing that reads AM-4765-6. If anyone can help us determine which AC tractor we have and where to find AC parts we would appreciate it.

Looks like you probably have a 1962 model D15 based on the engine serial number. AC sold a lot of those motors as power units, but the serial number on them started with 160 for the 160 CI displacment. Your engine serial number starts with 15 therefore you have a D15 model.

Parts are readily available from AGCO, some auto parts stores like NAPA, Here on this site and from vendors all across the country and on other web sites.

Good luck with your project.

The 15-4635-R is the engine serial number. The white tape in the picture is the location of your tractor serial number.

Thanks John, but the area where the serial # was is pitted by battery acid and cannot find serial #. Is there any other way to determine the year make?
