im in need of some rings, gasket kit, ect for a model d grader. the serial# on the engine starts with wd. is this the same engine that is in the wd tractors? any help would be appriciated. thanks, tim

I just noticed that someone else posted a similar request on the other AC site. The responses give more information on the years that the variuos changes took place with these machines.

The model D grader used the same engine as the W series of farm tractor of the same year. I.E, WD 201 c.i., WD45 and D17, 226 c.i. Some of the suppliers on these sites can get you the total rebuild parts that included sleeves and bearings for about $600.

I was checking Swinford's book while you made your post- He mentioned production years of 1949-1965, and using a 226 ci engine. Your post would explain why original poster's block starts with WD, since the WD45 block number would start with 45-. and be a 226. Of course, the WD block should be checked to see if it has a 45 crank in it, making it 226 ci. WD crank would be a 4 inch throw, 45 would be a 4.5 inch throw.

That would be the 201` cubic inch engine, as in the WD. Easy to find parts.
