Just bought a d-19 with loader, the lower gears do not work with the lever on the right side of the tractor, lever is loose and does not lock in place.... any suggestions? Any comments on how these tractors were in the field? feels very sturdy and substantial to drive!

Best GW.

Check the set-bolt at the bottom of the lever.
Otherwise, like Joe said, it needs adjustment or re-working of the PD clutch assembly.
Best to get a good shop manual for the D19.

That would be the power director clutch. I may only need to be adjusted or it coyld need rebuilding. A lot of horsepower and good on fuel. The first tractor with a factory installed turbocharger.
