I have a Wd45 that has the teeth missing on the intermediate gear. Any Ideas how that would have happened and which way I should go about fixing it? Do I have to split the tractor? Also how do the manifold gaskets go together. Were do the metal and fiber gaskets go?

Check the keeper ring on the back of the hand clutch, if it works loose it will fall down into the gears.

Brian;

You do not have to split the tractor to get the intermediate gear off. Just remove the PTO gear box and the hydraulic pump from the tractor. There is a set screw in the hydraulic pump compartment that you will have to take out to slide the shaft forward into the hydraulic compartment and the gear will drop down. Good luck.

There are a lot of ways the PTO could have gotten damaged. Most likely was someone had it engaged on a heavy load and just dumped the clutch. I know you don't need to split it to take the PTO off, it just bolts under the tranny. As for the intermediate gear...?

Manifold gaskets go steel to the head with the fiber sitting in the cup of the steel facing the manifold.
