i had carb soak for a week then bought a rebuild kit and put all new components in it put on my 1946 wc and it isnt getting any gas took back off and apart blew out still didnt work did that again still not working it is a marvel sch carb, the problem is prolly simple and suggestions

The first thing you want to check is flow to the carb. Restrictions up in the tank or sediment bulb can result in poor or no fuel flow to the carb. If the carb is getting fuel, your float level may be way to low, the the engine can not pull fuel up through the emulsion tube or enrichment passage. Another problem on the Zenith and M/S carbs is the inlet passage where the elbow from the fuel line enters. Debis collects in the elbow and the rear of that inlet passage and slows incoming fuel. Couple things to check.

Float, needle, and seat control gas into carb.

Jets, main and idel control gas from carb into engine.

If no gas is getting to carb.. but you have fuel fromthe gas line.. check the float to see if it is heavy, hanging on the bowl wall, or otherwise stuck / misadjusted.

If you are getting gas into the carb bowl but not the engine.. suggest you look at the jets..


Last thought would be bad carb gaskets not letting you build manifold vacume ( could be manifold gaskets, or head gasket.. or stuck valves too )
