My wd45 has a 6 volt positive ground system (original generator) with petronix 6 volt electronic ignition installed and has had no problems.

Have 5 C-II Gleaners with the Allis G-262 power unit in the family We have converted 4 of them to the Pertronix system. The only reason the fifth is not converted is the brother-in-law has not installed a alternator yet.

I put a Pertronix unit on my WD45 with 12 volt system and have never looked back. The conversion can be done in minutes. They also offer 6 volt negative ground units for those that want the purist look of their tractor.
