How many foot pound of torque to tighten the head on the block? Can the head can be shave? I was told that i can't becasue the piston will hit the valves.

Hey Tracey Listen to these guys, they know their onions, if you try to mill one of these heads you are going to be getting into the valve seats, mill the block or go for higher compression pistons. Good luck, Harry

Aaron is correct. You would need to plane the block. Better plan is new pistons with a higher compression ratio. For instance, you may find some after market pistons for LP.

90 ft/lbs; 25 ft/lbs on 3/8" studs.

Shaving the head is pointless, it's flat, the combustion chamber is in the block. Can't remember the torque.
