A friend has a 1966 D15 Allis 47.6 HP and would like to convert it from positive to negative ground. All I could think to change was the battery cables and the wiring to the ammeter. What else am I missing here...any suggestions?

Re converting from positive to negative ground. There is a few things you might keep in mind. If the tractor has a generator you can easily change it by polarizing it after switching the battery cables provided the voltage regular doesnt have any solid state devices like diodes and such . oh yes and the wires will have to be switched on the ammeter too. question.... if it works ok why do you want to switch? unless there is an alternator in the works maybe ? they usually dont come positive ground..... .

I just did this on my WD45. What an improvement. See the article in this months YTMAG for a how to. It is very good.

My advice is to eliminate the stock positive ground generator and voltage regulator and replace it with a negative ground GM alternator with the built in regulator. This makes life much better. There are detailed instructions on the first page of this website.
