Can I replace my Fairbanks-morse FMX magneto with a FMJ on my 1951 Allis Model C? I see quite a few FMJ"s for sale but no FMX"s.

Thanks for any info.

Make sure it has the 30 degree impulse, not the 35 degree as used on some Farmalls. Impulse will be stamped.

The FMJ was original issue on several AC tractors including the C. I think that the FMX was a replacement which was sold later.

I don't know about those mags, but dad used to put Bosch mags on his tractors. He put them on allis wd-wc and farmal b. They were a big hot mag that helped the oil burning tractors start.
