I new to this A/C stuff so here goes.I have came across and can"t find any info on an early hay balier.The grill and radiator looks very much like a 1949 B-model from what I can tell as does the motor.It is complete and very sound looking to be in excellent condition.But im more interested in the motor and would like to find out more about the engine.I do know that it is a 4 cylinder gas engine and is complete with carb and ignition system.
Any info would be great or any sites i could go to would be great also.

BE = 116, B only
CE = 125 later B and C"s
CR = CE +200rpm, came off combine
One of my B"s has the CR. Governer and an oil pan under the rocker shafts in the head are the only differences I"ve been able to find.
I"ve seen some power units that were CE"s.

AC--- the original B had a 116 motor, then upped to 125. The D10-12-14 had the 149 motor that was eventually upped to 160 and put in the D15. Also used in industrial tractors like the I40 or I400

there should be a motor number on the left side of the flange that bolts to the fly wheel housing area. A CE motor is 125 cubic inches, about 22 HP, a BE motor is 116 inches, about 18 HP. The difference in the motors is the bore, they have mostly same parts. HP is dependant on the governor speed at high idle. Can be 1500- 2100 RPM for different models.

AC made many power units based on the engine used in the B and C tractors. Used on Roto-Balers, forage choppers and blowers, pull-type combines, carnival rides, gravel screeners, conveyors, etc.

JMS, you know anything about what Allis Chalmers put the 160 c.i engine in, that was used as power units. AGCO said that over 100,000 of these engines were used in power units. They could not give me any other Information. They said all the records were destoryed when the plant was demolished.
