Hey does anyone know any way to tighten up the steering on a C? its loose at the front link and the link at the steering box... of course the center link that connects the two is loose, but i can get a replacement i believe... and also, does anyone offer a New aftermarket C fuel tank? im getting my C together and need to fix these problems to move on... Thanks in advance...

you can put shims in there and it will titen stuff up

I tightened mine up by doing two things. I cut off the tie rod ends on the link running from the steering box to the pedestal. I replaced the ends with tie rod ends from a car (happened to have a new set from a 1958 Ford). The second thing I did is pulled the pedestal apart and reshimmed it and rotated the gear connected to the wheels 180 degrees which gave 100% new teeth on that gear. Next move would be to replace the steering sector in the front end. Wasn't able to do anything with the steering gearbox itself and it wasn't too terrible bad. May disassemble it someday because the adjustment didn't work - it should. You should buy either the Allis manual or an IT manual before tackling this one.

Well I think you know where you can find them parts. LOL. I know I have a good tank and I have 2 steering boxes both the front ones and the back ones. From what I know to tighten them up you will probably need to get new bearings and seals etc.
