5040 was made at the Fiat owned UTB plant in Romania.Basically same tractor as the Long 445,460 and similar tractors also shares most parts with the Italian built Fiat 5045,5050 and Oliver 1265.Good little fuel effiient tractors.Import Tractor in Ontario Canada has most anything you'd need for it at reasonable prices.

I have a friend that has one and has had lots of problems with getting parts and the sticker shock on prices. Right now I am trying to help him find a Windbreaker or Hearhouser cab for it. The kind that has sides to bring the heat back from the engine to the operator. Do any of you have any ideas where to look?
Thank you.

guess i'll leave it alone. cabette is the company i remember who made those things in the 50's. i might try to find a tent & awning company and make my own brackets. don't think it would be too difficult.

I"ve heard that they are a good little utility tractor, made by utb in romania. I was looking for parts for my japaneese made AC 6140 and the Agco dealer told me that the only allis harder to get parts for than the 6140 was the romanian 5040. Allis replaced it with the fiat made 5045 after a year or two I think.
