CA 12 volt wiring

I have a '51 CA that has been converted to 12v, but the wiring has not been connected. Anyone that can tell me how to do it or has a diagram, it would be greatly appreciated.

Ken, if you need a drawing, send me an e-mail. Old is right on the details. THe #1 wire needs to be switched on and off with the key or toggle switch. The wire from the switch needs "something" in the line to drop the voltage to get the alternator to "kick in" and start charge, and also it keeps the alternator from feeding back when not running. some use a diod or light. i use a 10 ohm, 10 wat resistor from radio shack for $1. it is about 1/4 inch square and 3 inches long. wire sticking out each end. i screw it to a terminal block and terminate the wires on the screws.

Need to know what alternator it has if it has one. It could also have a rewired genny and of course if so that would be differant. Also depending on brand of alternator it can be differant.

Ok very easy to explain then. You run a #10 wire from the big post on the alternator to the battery of amp gauge electicly its the same since you get your ignition power off the amp gauge which is wired to the battery. On the 2 wire plug theres a #1 and #2 wire. The #2 wire goes to the big post on the alterntor and the #1 goes to the side of the switch that is hot when turned on. I small lite bulb or diode need to be in that wire or if it has a battery ignition it will not shut off. Hope that explains it well enough. If not go down to the 9N/2N/8N ford forum and do a search and you should be able to find a picture Bob posts on there all the time
