Ive actually been working on my to30 lately !!! Just been making slow progress is all. Better then none I guess.Been cleaning engine parts, painting some stuff, rebuilt the oil pump and doing misc machine work. Last week I was assembling the ported head and found the springs are TRASHED :D Tried shimming them - still couldnt make 50 pounds of seat pressure. Ended up ording some new ones. $1 each :) Even found new head studs for $23. Today I checked the clearances on the block and did a final cleaning for assembly. Now heres the part where one would think I'm crazy or something and have tractor hot rodding ISSUES..... ..... . Stuck the crank on the balancer and checked it to see how balanced it was. Wasnt as good as a 8n crank but really close - the pulley side was fine, but the flywheel side of it was off by 5 grams. Its all fixed now. Should be a good running tractor someday..... Checked the pistons too while I was at it - ones lighter then the other 3.... bleh I getta grind 3 pistons. Thats a next week project along with the rods and stuffing the crank in the block.
