Alternator Conversion Mount C

I would like to mount a 12v Delco alternator on my C. There isn't much room on the side where the original generator was. I can move the alternator back to clear the lower hose, but then the shaft isn't long enough. Has anyone got any tips on this situation? Thanks.

I used a smaller alt. off an old Mitsubishi Mighty Max piokup. Same alt. was used on other late 70's-80's Mitsubishi products inclding those made for Chrysler; Dodge Ram 50, etc. Adapted to original gen. mounting bracket easily & plenty of room to clear the steering drag link. This is NOT a one wire alternator so needs to be wired differently, but I painted it satin black & it looks like it belongs there & it works great, even used the original fan belt.

Did you consider a smaller diamater Alternator which is found on many autos in recent years? CENTAUR

The one on my C is one the genny mount with a long bolt that goes through both holes and the alternator sits on the out side of the front hole. Most people bend the steering arm to get room for adjustment of the belt. Thats how my C came set up when I got it
