The 7030 is one of the most durable tractors around. In addition to what others have said, Make sure the motor doesn"t have excessive blow-by, a little is normal for that tractor. A 7030 should handle just about any 8 row equip you can dream up. I believe 6700lbs at 24" behind is the rated lift capacity. Those tractors don"t bring much any more, but they"re dang good machines.

7000 series tractors are about the most solid tractors of their era up to about 150 or 160 hp. The torque limiter is about the only half way common problem and that ain't that bad. Usually if there is trouble with shift linkage or park brake linkage it is just a cable or ball joint on the cable end. As for any watercooled diesel check oil for antifreeze and change the antifreeze every other year with a good antifreeze made for diesels. That being said anything can go wrong with a machine.

856 puller is right on. The Torque limiter is a split job so beware there were several upgrades for the engine seal problem but not sure how well they turned out.CT

A 7030 shouldn't have any problem hydraulically picking up 8 row equipment and I'm assuming rear mounted cultivators. I'm not sure why your 200 isn't picking it up very well unless you're talking 8-38" or 8-40"'s it should handle 8-30"'s fine. One of the strong points of the AC tractor has been the hydraulics. Again like all other posts problems are easy to solve if we know what the problem really is. Need more info. I've seen a D-15 with a loader have two 1500# round bales (looked like a giant Q-tip} so heavy when he went into a ditch it broke the lift housing clear of the tractor now that's exceeding the load limit.CT

the 7030 was ok. look for leaks between the engine and trans. they liked to have rear main seal or power director seal problems than the torque limiter would slip. when you test run it put it in 1st hi half throtted and stand on the breaks make sure it would stall that will tell if it is slipping. i have seen lots of antifreeze in the oil, trans break linkage, problems and a couple drive shaft to power director hub splines go bad. the clutch can be jumpy
