I have an allis ib it has always ran great till now.it has sat since sept. i went to start and it would not fire,so i checked spark it was pretty weak so i cleaned cap, rotor and points on mag made a big difference in spark but still no fire so i shot a little gas i carb and it popped a few times,so i took off and cleaned carb (twice now)did not see anything wrong.put back together and it starts but runs about 800 rpm and does not have any response to trottle even when done by hand wont slow or speed up,checked for vac leak did not find any almost seems out of time but i didnt touch anything that would have changed that.run rough and kind of backfires inside when shut off.checked spark on all cyl. we're fine.dont know what else to look at?

Take the fuel bowl of and see if you are gettimg gas out of the tank if it just drips get a wire and uncloge the hole till you have a steady flow. I had to do the same thing to my C last week started poping wasent getting any gas.

Does the Throttle Valve seat completely when the throttle screw is backed off so it can?Is it installed upside down?I do not know if you touched the valve. This upside down valve would cause this kind of reaction.CENTAUR

Sounds like the main jet is still clogged up of your not getting enough gas to the carb. Pull the drain plug from the carb and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas. If you do then pull the main jet plug out and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas out there. If you don't have a good steady flow in both places then you have fuel problems. Drain plug says clogged fuel line/filters and main jet says clogged up main jet. If its the main jet you can try this. Pull the drain plug and the main jet cap. Then spray carb cleaner into the main jet and let it drain out the bottom I have the same problem off and on, on my C and thats what I do to get it running again
