I think I have a Hyd pump problem on my 185. I just finished replacing the sealing rings on the power divider clutch and now I can't get it to move. I think it is the pump, becuase the power steering won't work and the 3 pt raises a little jerky. Any ideas of what the problem might be or if there is something that I might have missed. Thanks in advance for your help.

John

John - if you pump was working before I'm sure it didn't break when changed seals. I'm guessing you drained the hydraulic fluid out before changing seals and then put it back in when done. If so, you probably lost prime in the pump. This has happened to me every time I drained it on my 180. Others my have different methods but the easiest that worked for me was to simply manually turn the the steering wheel all the on one side then the other until the pump reprimes. Manually doing that forces hydraulic fluid back into the system to reprime it. If that doesn't work come back and others may have further suggestions. Mike

Thanks Mike, I did try to prime the pump yesterday. I took the output lines off and filled the pump with fluid and then I opened a line on the steering cylinder and got some air out while a ran the tractor. It did act as if it was now harder to turn the steering but still didn"t work right. I"m not sure if it still needs primed or if I just have something wrong with that stage. The 3pt stage seems to work. I just had the plates in the pump replaced a few hours ago and not sure maybe something else in the pump is now wrong.
