My neighbor buddy has a AC 200 tractor. The other night he was using it to pull his son's truck out of a ditch due to massive ice storm. The 200 was just spinning one tire like mad on the very slick ice. I asked him if the tractor had a diff lock and if so now would be a good time to try and use it. All he said was "whats a differential lock"? I know that other brands of tractors made during the same time period had diff locks and was wondering if the 200 had this available. The square nosed AC's are one series of tractors that Im not very familiar with so take it easy on me. Thanks.

Allis didn't make available a differential lock on the 200 at all. With that said the 200 is still a sought after tractor due to its strong and reliable performance. The 200 could outperform most if not all in it's power class in normal field conditions. The 7000 series did offer it as standard equipment in 1973. Some Allis tractors built at the British works in England used a diff lock in the early 1960s. I beleive the 4020 and 3020 JD tractors offered it as an option but I think only on the power shift models as they are the only ones I've seen equiped with diff lock. I don't know when it was made standard on the later Deeres.

The 200 that we used to have didn't have differential lock.
