Is the filler cap and dipstick located to the upper right of the gear shifter lever on a D-17 for the hydralic system or the tranny. The hydralic system on my D-17 is responding slower than it used to (after using a wood splitter) so before I add hydralic oil to the resivor I want to make sure it is the right place. The dipstick that is attached to the filler cap shows that the level is correct.

If it is a series I or II D17, the hydraulic dipstick & filler location is below gas tank, behind clutch bell housing on the right side (belly ares) of tractor. I think series III & IV is checked to the right of gear shift lever.
