Whats the purpose for a hyd bouster guage on
a d15 series 2. Mine won't work, and several
places have told me their are hard to find.

The others said it but this gauge will not move unless there is a load on the lift arms such as a mounted or semi-mounted implement (plow or disk). It may quiver with a drawbar load but not actually develop pressure.

Do you mean the Traction Booster guage? It shows the relative amount of weight being applied when a Snap-Coupler implement is being used. The hydraulic system has the ability to add the weight of mounted implements to the rear wheels when needed to maintain traction. Same as a weight transfer system on more modern tractors. Through a mechanical linkage from the Snap-Coupler under the middle of the tractor, a sensing device, through a spring, simply applies upward hydraulic pressure through the lift arms to slightly raise the implement, like a plow, so the weight of the implement pulls down on the rear wheels, to maintain traction. Replacement guages are hard to find, but they do not control the system. Setting the lever on the quadrant will still control the relative amount of traction applied.

It shows when hydraulic pressure is being sent to the lift arms by the traction boost system. The traction boost system does not need a gauge to work, and you can generally tell that it is working by the sound and feel of the tractor when it is pulling hard. Yes the gauges are hard to find and pricey.
