I have an Allis tractor Im confused about whether it is a C or a CA. The Tractor # is C15406. I have been told that the letter in front of the number is the model. However the tractor came with the CA on the hood. Is there any way I can determine what this is for sure.

yes the CA pan seat or any other pan seat can be adapted to fit the model C. basically the CA is a "newer " C. most parts with interchange except putting the big CA hydraulic pump on the C housing. You could hcange the entire housings. They have same engine, radiator, torque tube, etc.

biggest difference on the CA is it has a 4 speed transmission, the C has a 3 speed.... other updates to the CA, it has spin out rear wheels, alxe housing (final drives) tipped toward rear a few degrees, spring loaded pan seat, distributor ignition, floor deck over the transmsion, 4 piston hydraulic pump instead of 2, bigger diameter hydraulic cylinder, normally has a axle clutch on the right side of seat

I hace a pan seat that is mounted on the b I have right now. It bolts the two blots on the torque tube just front of the rear axle. I am going to replace it with the corredt seat that should be on it at some point. I may consider parting with it if interested.

The serial number is located in front of the shifter. Yours being C15406 makes it a C.
